Covid-19 – Day 37 Isolation

Evening all,

I’d like to start by wishing Colonel (Captain) Tom Moore a happy 100th birthday. You, sir, are a hero. If everyone had a quarter of your spirit the world would be a better place.

Thursday is food shopping for my parents and my friend Emma’s Dad. As always my hackles were up as all those people who have no concept of social distancing got up in my face as they lean over to get an item from the shelf.

I did a little bit of editing today but feeling rather flat today and decided to allow myself to just chill.

Went outside as usual for the 8pm clap for NHS & Key-workers and stopped for a lovely chat with the neighbours – social distancing observed naturally!

Heading off now, so take care and stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 36 Isolation

Good evening all,

Stayed in today! YAY! Started to hate going out as no-one seems to understand social distancing in my area!

I had a Zoom catch up with some of my colleagues today and then spent the rest of the day working out profit – sorry loss from my books since I published in 2015. My marketing, on the whole, seems to have been profitable, but not consistently so, however, the setup costs are only slowly being chipped away. It’s going to take a while. There is a trend for people to want free books from authors, but I can tell you now that I’m in debt and don’t currently make a profit. If all authors gave away their books, they would have to give up as no-one can afford to lose money hand over fist.

This evening I had a Zoom quiz with another group from work, I was shockingly bad 36/92! The music round always gets me, doesn’t matter if I do know the songs, I always forget the title and artist. In fairness though, I knew very little today!

That’s me done.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 35 Isolation

Good evening all,

Headed out first thing this morning to Lidl, blissfully quiet, then headed down to drop my parent’s washing off. By the time I got home I was drenched to the skin (motorbike) and frozen to the core. It took hours to warm back up.

This afternoon was taken up with editing and tweaking keywords for my Amazon Ads.

Had a family video chat this evening which is always good, but worrying as my mum isn’t feeling well with fluctuating high blood pressure. It’s a worrying time.

Heading off now, stay safe everyone.

Covid-19 – Day 34 Isolation

Good evening,

Headed out of the house today as the rear tyre on my motorbike needed to be changed as it was seriously low. Had to wait around for quite a while but fabulous social distancing.

Spent the afternoon emptying the shed and pulling it down bit by bit.

A tad of marketing today and that is my day in full. Exhausted now!

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 33 Isolation

Hello all,

Started the day by re-writing the blurb for the first book in my children from the streets series, hoping to get more interest from people who click on my ads but aren’t converting into sales.

Housework was the next part of my day, sorting, cleaning, hoovering…you know the kind of thing.

Spent the afternoon going through and catching up on the last of Bryan Cohen’s videos again from the Amazon Ads course. Lots more startling revelations on how it has been taking me hours to do things which can be done in minutes!

Followed by more work in the garden and I started to pull the crumbling garden shed down, and scampered away to hide every time a spider was unearthed. Phobia alert!

Anyway, time to head off again.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 32 Isolation

Good evening all,

Felt a bit listless first thing this morning and couldn’t get into my flow, realised I’d forgotten something from shopping so took a walk down to Iceland’s which is the nearest to me, oh my God what a horror. Social distancing is impossible in the narrow aisles and the people who go in there has NO concept of social distancing AT ALL. I’ve committed murder in my books but if this carries on I may end up in a more permanent lockdown behind bars!

I did manage to get my mojo back a little bit later and continued to re watch the Bryan Cohen Amazon Ads for profit course.

Just as I was gearing myself up to do some work in the garden as the day started to cool I had a call from a colleague and we spend over an hour catching up and putting the world to rights. By the tome we finished talking I couldn’t face doing the garden.

Not the most productive day but that’s okay, because I am allowed downtime too!

Anyway, time to head off.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 31 Isolation

Good evening all,

Another day at home, finally finished chopping back the honeysuckle from the neighbours garden which had grown so much into my garden that it had crushed my poor fence and I was also able to chop up some more of the wood. There is still a long way to go to get the garden how I want it but feel that I have made good inroads.

I spent a lot of the day re-watching the 5 day to Profit on Amazon Ads by Bryan Cohen, still more to watch again but it is good to go through it again with more understanding.

I would like to wish the following people a happy birthday:

Emma Yates (A very good friend)

Siophan Buckley (My lovely neighbour)

Sherri A Wingler (One of my favourite authors)

David Driver (A lovely man and fantastic DJ)

Julie Corean (An old school friend)

Felt lazy today and ordered my first takeaway since lockdown. Chicken Korma, Rice and Poppadums, mm yummy.

Heading off now to listen to some more of Bryan’s course. So much to do and so little time.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 30 Isolation

Hello all

I’ve just realised that I haven’t posted tonight, so as it’s late I’ll keep it brief.

Food shopping this morning for my parents and my friends Dad, usual frustrations as joe public has no idea about social distancing!

Editing, fixing the wire fence in the back garden now that I’ve hacked most of the honeysuckle hedge back. I did find a bougainvillea plant in Tesco, my favourite flower and after buying it i planted it in the garden.

This evening after the clap for the key-workers, I had a Zoom quiz with my colleagues from work. I won’t tell you how appallingly bad I was but my brain goes blank at the music quiz despite knowing the songs, the song title and band/singer often fail to come to the front of my mind. It was great catching up with people and seeing they’re all okay.

Anyway time for bed. Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 29 Isolation

Hello All,

Took my second walk today, into Hounslow to pay a cheque into my account from shopping for my parents. It’s such a bizarre feeling to be walking through a high street which only a month or so ago was bustling which is now a ghost town.

Had another zoom chat with my colleagues today and was good to see everyone is well.

Worked on the garden again and spent time on the edits for Illicit Love which is book two in the English Love Series. The first in the series is below:

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 28 Isolation

Good evening,

I’m tired today, maybe now the stress of worrying about my son has dropped from my shoulders tiredness has taken its place, or maybe the physical work as I work on the garden is taking its toll – not getting any younger 😉

Took my mum and dad their clean washing back and stopped on the way home to do my food shopping. People still do not get social distancing, but I did make sure I said something as someone leaned over me to get something from a shelf. Grrrr!

Came back and sat out in the garden editing and doing the last day of the free Amazon Ads course by Bryan Cohen. It’s been a real learning curve.

Then later on in the afternoon I continued hacking away at the honeysuckle and breaking up the wood from the broken fence.

Heading off now to enjoy my glass of wine, think it might be bed o’clock soon.

Stay safe.
