Covid-19 – Day 66 Isolation

Good evening all,

Had to head back to Tesco’s today to pick up the meds for my dad which the GP forget to put on the prescription. The roads and the supermarket are getting busier all the time.

I spent half the afternoon getting to grips with the training course on how to do Facebook Ads. Nearly there, too tired to finish now.

My sun umbrella which attaches to my table arrived today so I can work outside on my laptop which has been overheating in the gorgeous weather.

One of my neighbours brought me over some cake from their Eid celebrations, unfortunately I can’t even Gluten so had to turn down the lovely looking cake. She’s only fifteen and the most lovely, sweet girl. We had a lovely catch up and discussed my idea to do a street party when this is all over.

Later in the day I went for a walk around Hounslow Heath and I’m on course for my 15,000 steps again.

My sister and I have signed up for the Richmond Half Marathon and will be fundraising for The Samaritans.

Struggling to keep my eyes open now, so will say night.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 65 Isolation

Good evening all,

Thursday shopping for my mum and dad, unfortunately I need to go back tomorrow as when I went to pick up my dad’s medicines the ones he really needed hadn’t been added to the prescription! It was horrendous in there today, really social distancing seems to be a thing of the past.

Picked up Mum and Dad’s washing and combined with mine have spent half the day doing washing. Yay! Also pottered around doing housework. Life is exciting.

A bit of work done on A Boy from the Streets, but not much else. Not quite sure where the day’s gone.

Went outside at 8pm for the last clap for the NHS/Key-workers.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 63 Isolation

Good evening all,

Went to Lidl to do my food shopping first thing this morning, it would seem that lockdown is over in this area!

I tried to work on my book in the garden this afternoon but my laptop was struggling with the heat. So I decided to go for a walk, I got to the corner of the road and stopped to have a quick chat with a neighbour Janice, at a distance. An hour later I was desperate for the loo and went home before setting out for my walk again. I went to Hounslow Heath again and took a different route and discovered just how big it really is. I was out for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Just as well I had increased my daily goal to 15,000 steps from 10,000. Needless to say it was easily achieved.

Worked on A Boy from the Streets again briefly, but got distracted by another neighbour and talked for ages.

A nice chilled day.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 62 Isolation

Good evening all,

I’ve been running on empty all day after a bad night’s sleep, there were police cars and a van down my road after midnight as the neighbours got into a dispute over parking. Shouting and a flashing blue light are not conducive to sleep! Thanks peeps!

Spent some more time chopping wood, nearly finished now. The bench is down to a few more planks. Looking forward to that chore being over and done with. Then to get back to the task of weeding the garden again, it’s crazy how fast it grows in my garden.

After a bad week of eating, I started once again trying to get my shit back together again. Good start but I always start well, I need to keep the momentum going.

I’ve been working through A Boy from the Streets as I plan on re-formatting and changing the print size. I also plan on a few changes on the colour of the cover.

Spent more time in the garden sunbathing and reading.

Also had a messenger catch up with my cousin Kathleen in Australia, my sister and brother about our ancestry.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 61 Isolation

Good evening

Still not got my mojo completely back, feel like I’m drifting somewhat. I think I need to focus on the things I want to complete or work towards during the remainder of my furlough.

Headed out to Tesco’s today for a brief pick up of items I’d run out of.

Other than that I’ve been working on my lead magnet story and I’m just shy of 5000 words, I also finished Wanted by R E Hargrave and I highly recommend reading this when it’s released next month.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 60 Isolation

Good evening,

Whoop woo made it to day 60!

Went for a little walk this morning and got caught in the shower of rain but got back before the heavy hail.

My brother came over to pick up Mum and Dad’s washing and we chatted, outside – socially distancing – for a few minutes. It was great to see him again.

This afternoon I worked a bit more on my lead magnet which is up to 3500 words. I also came up with a spin off story as a results. Looks like I’m not done with The Children of the Streets after all.

Other than that I haven’t done very much as my mojo still isn’t back.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 59 Isolation

Good evening all,

Happy 21st birthday to my lovely niece Sophie Hirst, know today wouldn’t be how you chose to celebrate your big day but hope it was a good one anyway. So proud of you and your determination despite the setbacks.
So today I was going to walk into Hounslow and pay in some cheques, my niece told me I can pay them in on my phone. Why did I not know this before? Done without having to leave the house.

I did have to pop out to M&S, the closest shop to me, which is in a petrol station on the Henley Roundabout. I have to say their 2m distancing markers are more like 1m! Nearly got skittled by a van driver who chose not to stop at the zebra crossing. Not sure he was even looking! Glad I had my wits about me.

Felt a little bit like my mojo wasn’t fully with me today, saying that I did look into getting my newsletter up and running again sometime soon, and wrote some more of the lead magnet.

I’ve also read more of Wanted and loving it.

That’s me!

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 58 Isolation

Good evening all,

Went food shopping for my parents and my friend’s dad again, and had a message from her this evening to say that seeing me is the highlight of his week. How lovely. It makes it all worthwhile. Although I still want to scream and shout at the people who don’t understand (all together now!) SOCIAL DISTANCING. It’s only getting worse. Stay alert seems to mean walk around with your head in the clouds.

Came home and sat in the garden, initially writing some of the lead magnet I’m working on but abandoned that when the laptop started overheating, I did go back in the evening when the heat of the sun lessened. Nearly 2000 words written so far. I sunbathed for the rest of the afternoon reading Wanted, I’m about half way through and loving it.

Had a catch up with some of the neighbours when we were outside doing the clap for the key-workers. I suggested we have a street party when we’ve kicked COVID-19 into touch.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 57 Isolation

Good evening all,

What a scorcher of a day! I couldn’t sit outside with my laptop, despite attempting to shade it, it was overheating so only a tiny bit of editing was achieved. So I decided to lie out on my lounger and reader Wanted by R E Hargrave, an ARC copy I received.

That was this afternoon. This morning had the weekly Zoom chat with work colleagues. I finished reading Hunter’s Moon by Sherri A Wingler. LOVED IT!

Walked down to Iceland’s to get some ice-cream, in desperate need. Wanted to throttle all the idiots who have no concept of social distancing – you remember my beef.

This evening I decided I will look at getting my newsletter back up and running at some time in the near future but will start with a reader’s magnet. I started a back story on Carolina, from A Boy from the Streets. So watch this space!

Got the work quiz in a couple of minutes.

Stay safe.
