Covid-19 – Day 90 Isolation

Good evening all,

90 days! Can you believe it? Where has the time gone? Am I tired of being at home? No! Hell no!

Started my day by getting my steps in by walking to Lidl in Feltham to do my shopping. Approximately 45 minutes each way. Yes I did get pissed off with someone else. A man leant over me, almost touching as he reached for what I was looking at. I growled “Haven’t you heard of social distancing?” Followed by stalking off. In the next aisle, I heard someone coughing, i turned around and said man was there with his girlfriend and they were looking at me laughing. They thought it was funny. Needless to say, I made my feelings about them VERY clear. They stayed quiet after that! Why do people think Covid-19 is funny or shouldn’t be taken seriously?

Worked for a while on my formatting but had a Teams meeting with regards to my son’s placement at the care home. Hounslow council are putting his future and his life at risk all for the sake of money. Talk about trying to rewrite history. A senior manager threw out that they need to send two workers to Lincoln to visit him because the care home might accuse their staff of bullying. Well, of course, I had to interject and correct her shockingly bad memory. The truth is she likes to score points against the home and this wasn’t one I could let her get away with. So I reminded her that I had been there and made a formal complaint when the social worker turned up an hour late to a review meeting and walked in with attitude and an aggressive tone. My son had to be removed as she distressed him, she then distressed another service user at the home with special needs because of her angry demeanour. The home had to escort her off the premises. So this manager thought she would rewrite history. Not on my watch! This is going to be one hell of a fight I think. The meeting went on for an hour and twenty five minutes and I then spent forty five minutes on the phone to my solicitor who sat in on the meeting.

Another battle! Tired of them now.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Days 87, 88 & 89 Isolation

Good evening all,

Sorry for the radio silence over the last few days, had problems with internet connection, again!

Day 87:

In the morning I went for a nice walk to the park with my mum. It’s the first time she’s been out properly since lockdown.

Went back to stay with my family member, who is making remarkable progress but still a long road to travel.

Was up until 1am working on the formatting and spent some time this afternoon on it, but due to a corrupted portable hard-drive everything crashed and I lost 8 hours of work. I was very lucky though, this hard drive has all my books on and although I couldn’t make any changes I was able to copy and paste the file I was working on to my desktop.

Day 88:

Exhausted. Up six times in the night and running on empty. Ended up in A&E with my relative, but able to go home after a few hours. A slight setback. DIdn’t get much done at all today.

Day 89: Another bad night’s sleep, but mainly because I couldn’t switch off. Went to pick up a prescription from the hospital and a few bits from Tesco.

Home now, walked to Hounslow Aldi in an attempt to stay awake.

Up to Chapter 4 on the formatting, as I had to start again. Hey ho never mind.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 86 Isolation

Good evening all,

Walked into Hounslow to pay in a cheque this morning which gave me the majority of the steps I need for the day. I popped into Aldi and luckily there was virtually no one there.

Washing dried for Mum and Dad and the next load dropped off by my sister, LOL. Maybe I should take in washing for a living!

The rest of the day was spent productively working on getting A Boy from the Streets Vellum ready. Uploaded it half a dozen times but not quite right, so a few amendments to make – except they are time consuming ones. Better get back to it.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 85 Isolation

Good evening all,

It’s Thursday, food shopping. I managed to avoid most of the idiots today – yay! Either that or I’ve given up hope that people can grasp the concept.

Finished working through the amendments to A Boy from the Streets and now I’m putting clickable links on my Portuguese/Brazilian words for the glossary. Exciting!

Went out for a walk to Hounslow Heath for the first time this week, it was nice to get back there again and it cleared my head.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 84 Isolation

Good evening all,

Had my Zoom work meeting today and a chat with my director later on, and as it stands I won’t be going back until the beginning of July and my role may change in the short term.

Very tired today and certainly not as productive as I would have liked, but I’ve finished the read through of A Boy from the Streets and have marked on my Kindle all the amendments I want to make. Now I just need to transfer to the Word document. I did have an exciting email from Vellum, which I use for formatting and they have now updated so I can include clickable links.

Feeling a but wrung out and low today, will pick myself up tomorrow and try to be more productive.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 82 & 83 Isolation

Good evening all,

Day 82

I couldn’t post last night as the internet connection wasn’t good but there wasn’t much to report. Another day taking care of my loved-one.

Day 83

A bad night’s sleep due to having to get up four times in the night to support my relative, but I’m back home now for four nights rest. Shopping in Lidl Feltham which wasn’t too busy which was a relief, not sure i could cope with stupid people today. Looking forward to working on my books over the next few days and a full night’s sleep… I hope 😉

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 81 Isolation

Good evening all,

Sorry my posts are very short at the moment, still helping support my relative so the usual writing, editing process has been put on hold.

Trying to keep up my steps but not easy to do either, it doesn’t help my pedometer watch freezes and doesn’t always log the steps. It will also minus steps. Very frustrating!

Anyway heading off now.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 80 Isolation

Good evening all,

I’m back home now. Exhausted.

Went for a four hour walk today, met with a friend Manvit, she’s actually a friend of my good friend Emma. We walked around the park in New Heston Road. It was nice to catch up and wander around chatting. I’ve done 22,000 steps today. Not too shabby.

And that is the extent of day 80 of lockdown.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 79 Isolation

Good evening all,

Went food shopping for mum and dad and my friend’s dad, the usual madness ensued in the supermarket.

Worked on a tiny but of A Boy from the Streets.

I haven’t been at home for the last couple of days due to having to help support a poorly relative whose mobility has deteriorated and cannot move around unaided.

Keeping it brief as I can barely keep my eyes open.

Stay safe.

Covid-19 – Day 78 Isolation

Good evening all,

Work Zoom catch up this morning and we discussed how the rest of us can possibly get back to work. This will still probably be a couple of weeks away.

Spent time looking at my sales for the books today, to date I have sold 1160 books.

A bit more editing. An author’s work is never done.

Stay safe.
